In the United Kingdom, the Office for Product Safety and Standards (OPSS) handles consumer product safety and the Food Standards Agency (FSA) handles food safety, and both publish recalls, withdrawals and marketplace listing removals on gov.uk. This list gathers, one by one, the OPSS product safety alerts, reports and recalls of the last 90 days (from 26 July 2026) that involve a recall from end users, withdrawal from the market, a warning to consumers or the removal of a listing, plus FSA food recalls and allergy alerts. The notices name no sales region, so all records are treated as UK-wide.
This list lets you check which products were announced, when and with what measure, with sources.
What this map shows
UK notices name no region of sale (England, Scotland and so on), so every record sits in the dashed "nationwide" ring; there are no area circles. Open each item in the list for date, measure and source.
The date is each agency's publication date (the OPSS alert or report date, the FSA publication date). OPSS "product safety reports" are included only if they involve measures such as removal of a listing or withdrawal; reports that only reject an import or destroy goods are not. Severity (1 to 3): 3 if the OPSS risk level is "serious" and the hazard can have grave outcomes such as fire, shock, suffocation or drowning; 2 if "serious" or "high"; otherwise 1. FSA: a Food Alert for Action is 3, an allergy alert or possible bacterial contamination is 2, otherwise 1.
Some things the numbers do not show. Counts are not a comparison of how dangerous products are or how safe a country is, and they cannot tell how many items were returned or whether any harm was caused. Vehicle recalls (DVSA), medicines and medical devices are not included. Check the source notice to see whether your product is covered.
Questions and answers
Does a high number of recalls mean a country's or company's products are unsafe?
No. A recall is a measure such as a refund, repair or replacement for a product that may have a problem. Counts depend on each agency's reporting and publication rules, how much is sold and how closely products are checked, so they cannot be used to compare safety between countries or companies.
How can I tell whether the product I own is covered?
Open the source link on each record (the official announcement) and check the product name, model, production period and the contact and remedy details. This map does not decide whether your product is covered.
What is the difference between a "product safety report" and a "recall"?
Besides recalls by businesses, OPSS publishes reports on products it has examined. This list includes reports that involve recall, withdrawal, warning or listing removal, and each record states its type.
